Matthews earned a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Accountancy, with an expected graduation date of Fall 2026. Matthews is eligible to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam and intends to take the examination in the near future.

Matthews is the founder of FTP Nonprofit, an organization focused on serving local communities and supporting individuals who need assistance accessing community resources. Through this work, she has engaged with community members and organizations across Tennessee and has worked with individuals with disabilities, focusing on accessibility, outreach, and public service.

Matthews emphasizes fiscal responsibility, public safety, and strong local communities as core priorities for Tennessee. Her campaign focuses on policies that support economic stability, responsible government, and practical solutions to everyday challenges facing Tennessee families.
